Glen Kamara exit not ideal ahead of Rangers transfer makeover in 2023

Rangers losing Glen Kamara in the January transfer window would not be ideal ahead of big changes in 2023, according to the Daily Record.

The newspaper has reported on its website that with a potential summer makeover on the cards at Ibrox, Michael Beale will want to take stock of his squad.

Kamara has been heavily linked with the exit door already, while the likes of Steven Davis and Ryan Jack are the wrong side of 30-years-old.

Writing in their pre-Christmas update for every club, the Daily Record shared the drastic changes that are on the cards at Ibrox going into the New Year.

“A midfield exit, namely Glen Kamara. He has been linked with a move to France and while his performances have waned this calendar year, he’s still one of the club’s top players in that area,” they wrote.

“Plus he is also one with longevity. Steven Davis, Ryan Jack and Scott Arfield are all into their 30s. Kamara seems to be the middle-man for now between experience and inexperienced youth.

“Losing him creates an imbalance they’d likely need to try and sort with a short-term fix. Not ideal ahead of a potential summer makeover.”

Changes.

Beale will be looking at his squad intently right now, and although some January changes may help, he will not want to be losing many of his current squad.

That may come in the summer though when numerous contracts are running down and Rangers can part ways with no issues moving forward.

Kamara has been central to the early plans of Beale and it looks as though he will be given a big role moving forward under the new manager, so surely an exit can be ruled out.

Any player in the first-team plans leaving would not be ideal and Ross Wilson needs to be bringing players in, never mind letting them go right now.

Getting through this season with some sort of success is critical to take into the summer, where we can ship out some deadwood and then replace it properly.

Eyes are on Ibrox.

In other Rangers news, Beale has already revealed some of his January transfer plans in the media and it might not be what fans want to hear.
