Andy Walker slams Allan McGregor after what Rangers goalkeeper did v Aberdeen on Sky Sports
Rangers saw their first-half lead evaporate moments before the break at Pittodrie as Luis Lopes equalised for Aberdeen from distance.
A stunning free-kick from the 22-year-old simply known as “Duk” could have been saved by Light Blues goalkeeper Allan McGregor but he had taken a step in the wrong direction and could not get to the strike.
Andy Walker did not hold back on the 40-year-old live on Sky Sports commentary and even main commentator Ian Crocker dug into the shot-stopper a little afterwards.

“McGregor takes a step to his left. Duk’s strike is absolutely magnificent but if [McGregor] stays where he is, he saves it,” Walker said [Sky Sports Football, 20 December, 08:45pm]. “He takes a step to his left and it was one step too many.”
Crocker responded: “A costly step to the side for Allan McGregor and Duk taking full advantage.”
Past it
McGregor might have saved the day somewhat in the Champions League with some very strong performances when the shots were pelting down on him but he can’t be trusted anymore.
Michael Beale has the chance to finally force Rangers out of the McGregor black hole and into a new era by either giving Robby McCrorie his long-awaited chance or signing a new number one.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst should have done it last season when the 40-year-old was not sure whether he wanted to carry on because that was the sign to pull the trigger.
Jon McLaughlin has also proven not good enough and he is also getting older by the day and less and less fashionable for the modern-day football landscape.
Regardless of his mistake for Duk’s equalising goal, the Scottish international has to finally hang up his gloves and transition towards coaching where he can have a genuinely big impact on the club and in a good way.
In other Rangers news, if Beale wants to sign this Premiership attacker, he’ll have to pay an “outrageous” fee according to this SPFL manager.
