Connor Goldson news could have ‘huge’ impact for Rangers in clash v Aberdeen – Brian Laudrup
Brian Laudrup is hoping to see Connor Goldson return for Rangers against Aberdeen on Tuesday after the centre-back’s lengthy spell on the sidelines.
Goldson has endured a frustrating season at Ibrox, with injury forcing him to the treatment room while he watches makeshift defenders try and fill his boots.
His return to training last week will be music to the ears of Michael Beale and Rangers fans alike. But returning on Tuesday away to third-placed Aberdeen would be throwing him in the depend.

Laudrup is certainly hoping to see Goldson in action. Via his Scottish Daily Mail column (20 December, Page 57), Laudrup wrote: “Beale’s debut at home against Hibernian was a step forward. It wasn’t perfect, in fact, some of the defending during the first half was shocking.
“The returns of Connor Goldson and Ben Davies could bring huge improvement to the Ibrox backline but, whenever he is introduced, Goldson might need a game or two to get up to full capacity.”
Key player
Rangers have been frustrated by a handful of injuries this season, but the major setback suffered by Goldson is up there among the worse.
His experience and physicality at the back has proved impossible to replicate. Leon King, James Sands and John Lundstram all took turns trying to fill Goldson’s boots, but the Rangers’ defence has been crying out for his return.

Beale won’t want to rush him back into the action after such a nasty injury, but at the same time, he’ll want his best defenders back in the lineup for an incredibly difficult league clash.
Beale faces a huge cal whether to start Goldson or not on Tuesday night. Davies could also make a return after also sitting out.
It’s vital that Gers keep piling the pressure onto Celtic at the top of the table, and if they are to keep the title race alive then the defence will have to be improved considerably.
