Journalist mocks BBC Sport as blunder says Rangers ace Allan McGregor scored in Celtic win v Aberdeen
Scottish Daily Mail journalist Stephen McGowan has mocked BBC Sport after they reported that Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor scored Celtic’s winner against Aberdeen on Saturday.
Callum McGregor was actually Celtic’s goalscorer as his 87th-minute strike ensured Ange Postecoglou’s side won 1-0 at Pittodrie to re-open a gap of nine points between themselves and the Light Blues, who won against Hibernian on Thursday.
McGowan clearly found BBC Sport’s mistake funny and reacted on Twitter.
“Huge Celtic goal from Allan McGregor,” said the journalist as he shared a screenshot of what it said on BBC Sport’s matchday feed.
D’oh
We get that BBC Scotland aren’t massive fans of Rangers. But come on?
It would be a simple mistake to make if you hadn’t just spent 80-plus minutes writing about Celtic and watching them play.
Callum McGregor and Allan McGregor. All that’s the same about them is their surname.
It was a bit of a blow for Rangers to see that late Celtic goal at Pittodrie.

It was, admittedly, a good goal and without it, it would have been two dropped for Celtic and could have helped us get back into the title race.
But there’s still a nine-point gap now and unless it starts getting chipped away at soon, we have no chance of wrestling our way back into it and making a surge for the title.
Michael Beale has a massive job on his hands.
All he can do is keep winning games and based on the evidence seen so far, he looks set to keep on doing that.
But everything else is out of his hands.
We need a downturn in the form of Postecoglou’s men fast.
In other Rangers news, an out-of-court agreement could be reached for the Gers as documents have been submitted.
