When asked about the club’s Scottish identity, and as reported via Football Scotland, Beale said:

“I think they have to be good enough to play for Rangers. But I think a strong Rangers has always had key Scottish players in that team as well. It is important we have that, certainly, for the make-up of our squad for European football, we need to have the right quota.

“I do think as a big club, the biggest club in Scotland, we need Scottish players in our squad for sure.”

Exciting

Beale has been renowned for his work with young players during his short stint for QPR in the Championship, and it looks as though he wants this to continue at Ibrox.

Having already got King putting pen to paper in a deal till June 2026 and offering Adam Devine the opportunity to start at left-back in the 3-2 over Hibernian, his philosophy is plain for all to see.

Scouting for the best homegrown Scottish talent will surely excite Gers fans, and even if not successful at first, it is the ambition which will delight the Ibrox faithful.

Under Giovanni van Bronckhorst every move was sedate, slow-paced and predictable, whereas the new English manager has burst onto the scene full of ideas to take Rangers back to the top of Scottish football once again.

It wouldn’t come as a surprise to see the likes of Morelos and McGregor move on in the summer. Their time has come and gone, and although they will be key cogs in Beale’s integration period, they are unlikely to feature in his long-term plans.

In other Rangers news, Beale has revealed what he told his players at half-time in their 3-2 comeback win over Hibs.
