Rangers forward Alfredo Morelos still looks angry despite Michael Beale comments

Rangers forward Alfredo Morelos looked angrier than ever during the Light Blues’ 3-2 triumph over Hibernian on 15 December, according to Daily Record journalist Fraser Wilson.

Morelos grabbed the winner for the Gers on the night, with a textbook poachers finish, something Ibrox has seen little of this campaign.

Despite this and Michael Beale’s comments about getting the forward smiling again, Wilson confessed that Morelos looked “as angry as ever” during the Scottish Premiership fixture.

“He spoke about getting Morelos smiling again but the player looked as angry as ever on Thursday,” said Wilson as quoted by the Daily Record.

“Still, he popped up with the all-important goal and put in a shift. Positive signs but a long way to go.”

Lifeline?

Morelos seems to have some sort of lifeline under Beale, or at least that is the impression the Englishman has given during his short stint at Ibrox so far.

He’s obviously more of a fan of the Colombian than Giovanni van Bronckhorst was and this will only go in the forward’s favour in contract negotiations.

Beale has highlighted that he wants to try and play Morelos and fellow Gers forward Antonio Colak together, something which will have to wait after the Croatian’s unexpected injury.

The duo have all the attributes to form a formidable partnership but whether or not this can be achieved remains to be seen.

Many fans would argue that Morelos’ time at Ibrox should be up, he’s put in numerous lacklustre and poor performances in recent months that don’t deserve a new contract.

But if Beale can indeed get him smiling again, then the Columbian may be in for one last ride at Ibrox, something that everyone can agree would be a positive thing for the Light Blues this campaign.
