Glen Kamara to seek ‘big payday’ to quit Rangers as £6m news emerges from Europe – pundit
We’re delighted to welcome Tam McManus as our exclusive Rangers columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Ibrox…
Glen Kamara will look for a “big payday” if he quits Rangers amid interest from France, according to Tam McManus.
Kamara, 27, is reportedly wanted by Ligue 1 club Nantes, who are in pole position to complete a deal and are willing to pay £6million for the Finland international [Daily Record].
The former Dundee midfielder struggled for game time when Giovanni van Bronckhorst was in charge but started on Thursday (15 December) when Michael Beale took charge of his first Scottish Premiership game.

Kamara played 87 minutes before being substituted off – his longest league appearance of the season – but McManus doesn’t see him being offered a new deal to stay at Ibrox based on his low game time under van Bronckhorst.
“I think he’ll be looking for a big move in terms of getting a big payday and he’s got a good opportunity of that,” McManus told Ibrox News.
“He’s 27 years old, he’s at the peak of his career and unless Rangers will offer him a big deal – which I don’t think he really deserves this season – then he’ll move on.
“He’s been a great signing. He cost £50,000, played well over 100 games and done well at Rangers.”

Kamara has played 17 times in all competitions this season but has started just eight games.
While he has had some injury issues, there’s been nothing serious that’s kept the former Arsenal player out of action for more than a couple of weeks at a time.
