Fabrizio Romano sends one-word message as new Rangers deal confirmed for Leon King

Fabrizio Romano has sent a one-word message to Rangers defender Leon King on Instagram after he signed a new deal at Ibrox.

King signed a new long-term deal at Ibrox on Thursday (15 December) although the club did not reveal the exact length of the contract for the 18-year-old.

He shared a brilliant post on Instagram where he is pictured holding the club shirt.

“Delighted to have signed a new long term contract at Rangers. Big thanks to Elliott Fillingham, Peter MacDonald, and CAA Base for sorting it out,” wrote King on Instagram.

Romano wrote “congrats” in reply.

Transfer worry?

Despite signing a new deal, Romano shared [15 December] on Twitter that Premier League clubs are still “tracking” King for the future.

Romano added that King has signed a deal that is valid until June 2026, but it was typical of the transfer guru to drop a little bombshell to rattle the fanbase.

The Bears have nothing to worry about in terms of his future. King is developing as a fantastic defender and has made 26 first-team appearances, including 19 this season.

The fact that Premier League clubs are tracking him only suggests that the young defender is doing a terrific job at the club.

The youngster should focus on playing regularly for the club, and not think too much about transfer rumours. He has a long-term deal at the club, and Rangers have nothing to worry about his future.

The Bears can demand a pretty big transfer fee in the future if Premier League clubs come calling, aligning with the club’s new transfer model.

In other Rangers news, an out-of-court agreement could be reached for the Gers as documents have been submitted.
