Alfredo Morelos starts in new-look attack – Confirmed Rangers starting XI v Hibernian
Michael Beale’s Rangers starting XI against Hibernian in his first Scottish Premiership clash as head coach has been confirmed by the club.
Beale has made three changes from the side that thrashed Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 on December 10, with Alfredo Morelos chosen to spearhead the frontline with Antonio Colak nowhere to be seen, after Beale hinted he would start the pair together.
Confirmed on Twitter prior to kick-off, the Gers have welcomed back Morelos, Fashion Sakala and John Lundstram to their starting XI, with Rabbi Matondo and Leon King dropped.
The beginning.
The Hibernian clash at Ibrox is the true start to Beale’s reign as Rangers head coach and the match will give some insight into how the squad may fare under the new head coach.
It’s exciting times at Ibrox right now and if the Leverkusen game is anything to go by, Rangers’ trajectory may finally be turning upwards.
There will undoubtedly be trials and tribulations along the way but there finally seems to be a positive attitude surrounding the club, something that has been missing this campaign.
Fans will expect Beale to get off to a flying start, considering his past affiliations with the club, but they still need to give him time to settle and thrive.
Whether Rangers will be able to mount a Scottish Premiership challenge to runaway leaders Celtic will become apparent in the next few months.
If Beale can get some good results off the bat, Ange Postecoglou’s side will be looking nervously over their backs before the Old Firm clash on January 2.
In other Rangers news, an out-of-court agreement could be reached for the Gers as documents have been submitted.
