Fabrizio Romano reveals major Leon King news despite new Rangers contract
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has dropped some major Leon King transfer news, despite the young defender signing a new contract at Ibrox.
The Italian revealed on December 12 that King had signed a new contract at Ibrox until 2026, however, he has now shared some more news regarding King’s future.
Romano confessed Premier League clubs are still “tracking” King for the future, despite the 18-year-old’s newly signed and sealed contract at Rangers.
“Official, confirmed. Leon King signs new deal with Rangers FC valid until June 2026, as called days ago,” said Romano on Twitter.
“Premier League clubs are tracking King for the future.”
Nice of Romano to drop that little bombshell after some good news for the Gers, it’s never plain sailing, is it?

Win-win.
The fact Premier League teams are still tracking King suggests they think they are in with a chance at luring him away from Ibrox still.
Nevertheless, if Michael Beale can change the fortunes of Rangers in the coming months, King’s future at the club may look a lot more steady.
The youngster will be more inclined to stay at Ibrox if the Gers are winning trophies and games, this should be enough to hush away Premier League rumours.
If not and King continues to progress how he’s thought he can, then Rangers can demand a pretty big fee for the young defender should club’s come knocking.
This would be enabled may the fact he’s now under a lengthy contract and would tie in perfectly with the club’s new transfer model of nurturing talents and selling them on for bigger transfer fees.
This makes the new Romano news a win-win for Rangers, providing King continues to perform for the first team in the coming seasons.
In other Rangers news, an out-of-court agreement could be reached for the Gers as documents have been submitted.
