Rangers: Chris Sutton takes swipe at Barry Ferguson column in Daily Record
Chris Sutton aimed a dig at Barry Ferguson on Twitter after he backed Michael Beale to bring success back to Rangers.
Ferguson used his Daily Record column this week to express his delight at Beale’s request for Rangers players to turn up to home games dressed in a suit and the club’s traditional brown brogues.
While it’s obviously not a decision that directly impacts performances, Ferguson believes it will have an effect on the squad by helping to maintain standards and traditions at the club.
But Sutton clearly doesn’t share the same opinion, and he took to Twitter to mock Ferguson after his previous praise of Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
“It wasn’t that long ago Bazza said Gio had Ange sussed…” tweeted Sutton.
Never ignored
Despite Celtic’s lead at the top of the Premiership, it seems all the club’s fans and pundits can do is discuss Rangers.
Beale’s appointment has been the talk of Scotland over the last few weeks, and it seems his return to Ibrox has ruffled a few feathers on the green half of Glasgow.

Frankly, Ferguson is right to praise Beale for his latest decision. The club’s traditions and history were becoming lost among this current set of players and the 42-year-old is clearly keen to remind them how historic and storied that Rangers badge is.
When Beale was appointed, the main concern around him was his inexperience in a managerial role. When it comes to the training pitch and translating that to matches, Beale is one of hte best around – but fans were unsure whether he had enough experience to take a firm grip on the off-field decisions.
Beale is already starting to swat away those concerns though, with his brown brogues request the latest example of his leadership.
