Rarely-seen Rangers teenager Robbie Fraser trains with first team ahead of SPFL clash v Hibernian

Rangers B-team captain Robbie Fraser has been spotted training with the first team ahead of Michael Beale’s first game in charge against Hibernian.

The 19-year-old made his debut in the 3-0 friendly win over Bayer Leverkusen but has yet to feature in the Scottish Premiership for the Light Blues.

Rangers released pictures (via Twitter, 14 December) of the players training at Auchenhowie ahead of the fixture against Lee Johnson’s side.

Fraser was pictured behind defender Ben Davies as Beale looks to integrate some of the Gers’ younger players into his first-team plans.

Promising

It’s really promising to see Beale get some of the Gers’ most promising youth products involved in the first team picture. It’s unlikely that they will play any considerable part on the pitch, but being in and around senior players will do wonders for their development in the long term.

The future certainly looks bright with Alex Lowry, Robbie Ure and Zak Lovelace all primed to make a first-team impact in the coming years. Considering the trio are all in their teenage years, fans should be excited. Beale will give younger players a chance, with his time at QPR displaying his trust in youth.

Rangers

Although things aren’t great on the pitch at the moment, there should be a lot of hope and optimism when it comes to the future. Lowry in particular has been superb whenever he has been given a first-team shot and should certainly be part of Beale’s plans for the remainder of the season.
