Michael Beale names Alex Lowry as being ‘ready’ for Rangers starting lineup
Michael Beale has hinted that Alex Lowry could start for Rangers against Hibernian on Thursday (15 December) as he is “ready” to be in the lineup.
The young academy midfielder was on the verge of breaking into the Rangers first-team this season under Giovanni van Bronckhorst before suffering a knee injury in a reserve game.
That saw him ruled out for a long time and lose his spot in the pecking order, but speaking ahead of the return to action for the Scottish Premiership new manager Beale has admitted he feels he is ready to be included in the mix at Ibrox.
“Beale also adds Lowry is ‘ready’ to make a breakthrough into the starting 11,” journalist Joshua Barrie wrote on his personal Twitter account (14 December).
“Says he won’t be far away from the starting 11 tomorrow (Thursday).”
Finally
One of the most obvious things that we have seen as fans at Rangers over the last 12-18 months is that Lowry is good enough to perform in the first-team for Rangers.
His eye for goal, his passing range, his work rate and his quality all over the pitch is something that has been really missed by Rangers and would be hugely welcomed in the second half of this season.

Steven Davis looks set to leave in the summer when his contract expires, while Glen Kamara’s future is far from secured and Ryan Jack’s contract status means his Ibrox career could be coming to an end soon.
A new manager who is looking to implement a fresh, attacking style could be the perfect man to bring Lowry into the fold, especially as he would have worked with him a bit when he was here previously too.
This is the perfect opportunity to give Lowry an opportunity at Rangers and it finally looks as though he’s set to get that chance sooner rather than later.
