Andy Walker slams Alfredo Morelos as Michael Beale challenged to revive his form
Andy Walker has criticised Alfredo Morelos for his lacking attitude and fitness problems at Rangers this season – an issue Michael Beale has to resolve quickly.
Morelos started the season out of shape and looking extremely uninterested at Ibrox, and new manager Beale is tasked with reigniting his flame in the second half of the campaign.
The striker’s contract expires in the summer and the club seems no closer to convincing him to extend his stay in Glasgow.

With his time at Ibrox potentially coming to an end and Morelos bowing out in disappointing fashion, Walker slammed the 26-year-old Colombian for his poor attitude this season.
“The position is a difficult one. Rangers are nine points behind Celtic and I do expect Michael Beale to give the whole squad a new manager bounce,” Walker told Sky Sports, as quoted by Glasgow Live.
“It will be interesting to see what kind of form he can get out of Ryan Kent, someone he has known since he was a 14-year-old boy when he was at Liverpool. It will be interesting to see what he can get out of Alfredo Morelos.
‘His attitude has been lacking at times, and he wasn’t fit for the start of the season when Rangers had a number of big games and Antonio Colak is the number one there at the moment. It will be interesting to see if Michael Beale can get any sort of a tune to challenge the number one striker there.”
Motivation
Morelos has looked void of motivation this season. He’s usually a hot-headed striker chasing down the ball and roughing up defenders, but this season he’s looked completely uninterested.

His fitness issues were a huge red flag for Van Bronckhorst, who had to rely on Colak due to Morelos’ lack of preparation.
Thankfully the Croatian striker hit the ground running and racked up his goal tally, but Morelos has shot himself in the foot as Colak has now risen ahead of him in the pecking order.
Without first-team football, Morelos will have no interest in staying and signing a new deal. But he’s made it extremely hard for both Beale and Van Bronckhorst to trust him with a start after his poor attitude and fitness.
Hopefully, Beale’s arrival will kick him back into gear and remotivate him to succeed at Ibrox, otherwise, it’ll be a very bitter farewell for Rangers.
