Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos to quit Rangers after what Douglas Park said – pundit

We’re delighted to welcome Tam McManus as our exclusive Rangers columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Ibrox…

Tam McManus sees Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos running down their contracts at Rangers despite Michael Beale reporting wanting to keep hold of the misfiring pair.

On 3 December, the Scottish Sun reported that new manager Beale is “keen to keep” the two attacking players, whose contracts expire at the end of the season.

Neither have played very well though with Kent, 26, and Morelos, also 26, contributing just four goals between them in all competitions.

McManus feels as though both can be assets for Rangers.

However, he can only see them leaving at some point in 2023, whether it’s in January or in the summer when their contracts end.

“I understand why he would want to keep them because on their day, they’re both very good players,” McManus told Ibrox News. “But Douglas Park said at the AGM that he thinks both of them will leave and there’s only so much they can do in terms of offering them money.

Both of them might want to go and get big money on a free [transfer] so that, to me, is how it is going to play out. Both are going to run their contract down and go on a free unless Rangers can come up with more money for their contracts.

I don’t think that’s going to happen so I think both of them will be off in the summer.

They’ll try to get something for them in January but both of them will want to run their contract down and there’s nothing Rangers can do about it.”

In other Rangers news, an out-of-court agreement could be reached for the Gers as documents have been submitted.
