Charlie Nicholas: Rangers must be wary of overpaying for Malik Tillman
Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas has warned Michael Beale and Rangers of overpaying for the services of Malik Tillman this summer.
Tillman looked rejuvenated under Beale in Rangers comfortable win over Bayer Leverkusen on 10 December, scoring twice in the fixture.
Nevertheless, Nicholas has fired a stark warning to Rangers over a potential permanent deal for Tillman, claiming he doesn’t see the “value” in paying £6-7million for the Bayern Munich man.

“Michael Beale said at the weekend he would love Rangers to do a deal to sign Malik Tillman permanently,” said Nicholas as quoted by the Scottish Daily Express.
“I would up to a certain amount. If we are talking about £6-7million then I don’t see the value in it. I have liked what I have seen from Tillman.”

Audition.
The second half of the Scottish Premiership season will be an audition for Tillman to prove he is worthy of Rangers dishing out a permanent deal for him.
And he’s got off to a solid start under Beale, with luck, he can translate his fine performance in the Leverkusen friendly into competitive fixtures.
The youngster was completely wasted by Giovanni van Bronckhorst and evidently has so much more to give in a more attacking-minded team.
It was always going to be exciting to see how Beale utilised Tillman and we got a brief glimpse on December 10 of how he might just do that.
Going off raw talent alone, there isn’t anyone in the Gers squad who is on Tillman’s level, he just needs to become a consistent threat week in and week out.
The coming months will be telling for Tillman, but something suggests he may have found the perfect remedy with Beale as his coach.
In other Rangers news, Michael Beale has outlined his desire to sign Malik Tillman on a permanent basis.
