Youth expert keen to see Kevin Ciubotaru overcome ‘massive’ Rangers injury setback
Kinetic Academy founder Harry Hudson is determined to see Rangers starlet Kevin Ciubotaru overcome his injury problems at Auchenhowie.
The 18-year-old has only just returned to the club’s B team in the past few weeks after spending the start of the season recovering from a groin operation.
He’s had to be patient with Robbie Fraser performing well as captain of David McCallum’s side but he has started to emerge as a starlet in Glasgow.
One piece of stunning skill made its way onto the Kinetic Academy Twitter page as Ciubotaru emerged from the South London-based foundation to sign for the Light Blues in January.
Hudson knows better than most of the ability the Romanian possesses and is keen to see the teenager overcome the early season setbacks and earn a new deal at Ibrox.
Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News reporter Joe Ellis, Hudson said: “He had a really bad start to the season because he had a massive injury, needed surgery on a groin so he didn’t really get going at the start which was not great for him.
“But he’s back now and has been for three or four weeks and now he is featuring quite regularly for the B team which is what you would expect.

“I’m pretty sure he is out of contract in the summer, I think Rangers have a year option on him, so he needs to make sure he has a really strong next four or five months to secure a new deal.
“Kevin is a fantastic athlete and a good technician. He was developing the defensive side of his game a lot with us and he got to a very high level.
“I know Rangers have really high hopes for him and so do we but it’s just a case of keeping him fit and hoping that they’ve seen enough so far to extend his contract.”
The B team currently sit comfortably in the lead of the Lowland League having finished in the top three last season in their first campaign at that level.
In other Rangers news, this Ibrox outcast could be given a second chance to thrive with Michael Beale likely to need every man he can get.
