Rangers set for full FIFA payment as Borna Barisic continues at World Cup

Rangers are set for a FIFA World Cup windfall due to Borna Barisic and Croatia’s terrific run in the tournament that has seen them reach the Semi-Finals, according to The Scotsman.

Through FIFA’s Club Benefit Payments Programme, Rangers continue to gain funds with their players remaining at the tournament.

The report claims FIFA will pay out $10,000 (£8,000) per day a player is at the competition, until the day after their country’s elimination from the tournament.

“The governing body pays out around $10,000 (US) per day a player is at the competition, starting from November 10, which was the beginning of the preparation period, until the day after elimination,” as quoted by The Scotsman.

“Rangers will be due the full $350,000 amount with Barisic having been signed in 2018.”

Great initiative.

This is a great initiative by Rangers and one that the Gers will reap the rewards from with Barisic starring in a classy Croatia setup.

And whilst the money is completely life-changing for the club, it will add a nice little cash influx into the mix ahead of the January transfer window.

The club have few excuses not to invest and spend some money in the window and it’s something that is desperately needed if Beale stands any chance of succeeding.

And with outings aplenty, there should definitely be some funds to invest in younger and new squad members to take Rangers to the next level.

Beale will likely have numerous targets on his mind and a good idea of who he wants to bring into this Rangers fold to improve things at Ibrox.

With luck, we will see a few of these faces in January, it’s needed if the team stand any chance of catching up to Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

In other Rangers news, this prolific goalscorer is “excited” by speculation linking him with a move to Ibrox in January.
