Michael Beale drops Ryan Kent contract update Rangers fans will love to hear
Ryan Kent could yet sign a new deal at Rangers as Michael Beale offered an update on where he is at after the friendly against Bayer Leverkusen.
The English winger is set to see his contract at Ibrox expire at the end of this season and he showed no signs of putting pen to paper on an extension under Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
But with Beale now at the helm, the feeling is that he could yet opt to stay with discussions ongoing.

“Ryan tends to play well in the big games,” Beale said, as quoted by Football Scotland. “Looking from afar, he was the best player on the park against Dortmund last year. On that night he looked top. This is a player who wasn’t playing at Bristol City before he came here.
“So there was a lot of work done with Ryan. He is one of the players I came back to Rangers to work with because we have such a good relationship.
“If it’s six months, if it’s six years – I don’t know how long I’m going to be here. The big thing is to get back working with the group. All those conversations can come in time.
“Everything is looking really positive but there has been a huge change here. Change for the worse, change for the better? Time will tell. But Ryan wants to be part of an exciting Rangers moving in the right direction.”
Rejuvenated
Under van Bronckhorst this season, Kent has looked like a shadow of his usual self and he has not been the difficult to mark or tackle winger that has become so common to see.

But he enjoyed working with Steven Gerrard before then and Beale was the assistant in that period so he may well find his best form once more with the 42-year-old back at the club.
Light Blues fans everywhere will hope that is the case and he can step up his performances once more but more importantly, they will want him to stay for more than this season.
It would be extremely difficult to replace such a top-quality player in the summer and even harder in January if he chooses to try and leave before his contract ends.
But if Beale can unlock the true Kent at Ibrox, then he could easily end up staying for years to come, or at least until Beale decides to go somewhere else.
In other Rangers news, despite the hard work out against Leverkusen, the players are not going to receive a luxury they usually get after matches.
