Irish broadcaster blasts ‘weirdo’ Rangers over new King Charles image at Ibrox
Rangers have been branded a “weirdo club” by Irish broadcaster PJ Gallagher after they shared an image of King Charles in their Ibrox changing room.
The Gers have traditionally had an image of the monarch in their dressing room at Ibrox, and after Queen Elizabeth’s passing earlier this year they have no replaced her image with one of King Charles, who succeeded her on the throne.
But after posting an image on their official Twitter account, Gallagher took to his own personal account (11 December) and blasted them as a “weirdo club” for their beliefs.
Nonsense
There’s always someone who wants to take a dig or make their point known at the expense of Rangers, and we still don’t understand why.
Rangers have a long history of strong links to the monarchy, so obviously they are going to be in full support and they will look to continue a tradition with the image.
The club’s fans love it and that is who they represent, so that is who they do it for, not for someone with no links to Rangers whatsoever or differing beliefs to ours.
Rangers aren’t trying to convert people to believe that they stand for, so they should just be respected for having different views and allowed to do what they want so long as they’re not breaking rules or hurting anyone.
It’s a stupid comment designed to attract abuse and engagement and he’ll probably complain about it later too. Total nonsense as usual and a waste of a tweet.
