Confirmed Rangers starting XI v Bayer Leverkusen in first Michael Beale outing

Rangers have confirmed their starting XI for the mid-season clash with Bayer Leverkusen at Ibrox on Saturday 10 December ahead of the Scottish Premiership returning.

Michael Beale will take charge of his first game for the club ahead of his competitive opener against Hibernian on Thursday 15 December next week.

Confirmed on Twitter prior to kick-off, the Bears have named a strong side with Adam Devine coming in to solve the issues at left-back with the likes of Alex Lowry on the bench.

All eyes on.

This is a huge test against tough opposition for Beale and his boys.

As well as that, we will get a much clearer image of how the squad may look next week when we return to competitive action against Hibernian, in what is crucial.

Every game is now a must-win given the nine-point deficit that Giovanni van Bronckhorst left, so positive, front foot football is needed to turn it all around.

There are a number of issues that need addressing ahead of kick-off today though, with left-back the main problem as Borna Barisic continues at the World Cup with Croatia and Ridvan Yilmaz injured right now.

All eyes will be on youth and how they can help the senior side, but it is those big-name players who need to show they can step up again after going missing.

With contracts and futures on the lines at Ibrox on a major scale, we should see a determined new-look side fighting for their new manager as Beale watches on closely.

In other Rangers news, this prolific goalscorer is “excited” by speculation linking him with a move to Ibrox in January.
