Rangers won’t be looking to sign Ahmed Kendouci in January transfer window – Heart & Hand

Rangers and Michael Beale won’t be looking to sign midfielder Ahmed Kendouci during the January transfer window, according to the Heart & Hand podcast.

This comes as Michael Beale gets to grips with his first-team squad at Ibrox, with the club openly expressing their interest in backing the ex-QPR manager in the transfer market.

However, these rumours of a move for Kendouci have been shut down by the Heart & Hand podcast, which tweeted: “Club say nothing in Kendouci rumour. No word on any other, before you ask.”

Missing out

Rangers could be missing out on an extremely exciting talent if their interest in Kendouci has indeed dropped.

The 22-year-old, who plays for ES Setif, is the top scorer in the Algerian league this season, netting eight times in 12 games and helping propel his side to second in the division.

Beale will certainly be looking for fresh legs in the January transfer window as he attempts to close the nine-point gap to league-leaders Celtic.

With the likes of 37-year-old Steven Davis, 30-year-old Ryan Jack and 34-year-old Scott Arfield still holding up the Gers midfield, some fresh legs are certainly needed in order to add some much-needed competition to the side.

Kendouci can play anywhere in midfield and has been used on the left for his club this season – offering flexibility to Beale, which would be much appreciated.

Rangers could be missing out on a shrewd signing here, with the initial loan the perfect opportunity to see if the Algerian could adapt to the fierce Scottish Premiership division.

In other news, Rangers have launched a bid to sign Hearts youngster James Wilson in the January transfer window.
