Another new deal

Rangers are really pushing the new contracts and also making efforts to add to improve their youth ranks.

Michael Beale is someone who could look to exploit Rangers’ academy so having promising youngsters – like Ure – tied down to long deals means there’s more of a chance they’ll be able to make it at Ibrox and less of a chance of them being poached by other clubs.

According to the Glasgow Times, there’s a desperate attempt to tie Jack Wylie down to a new contract at Ibrox amid interest from Manchester United while the Gers are also looking at signing Hearts sensation James Wilson.

Jack Harness, an 18-year-old defender, has also signed a new deal at Ibrox in the last 24 hours, as confirmed by the Scottish Premiership club.

Ure has excited fans with his small number of appearances in the Gers’ senior side.

He’s played twice this term against St Mirren and Queen of the South, scoring against the latter in the Scottish League Cup back in August.

With the B team, Ure has netted 10 goals and supplied six assist in 16 Lowland League appearances so he’s definitely a young striker who’s moving in the right direction.

Loaning him out in January might be a wise move unless Beale wants to play the teenager in his senior side more often due to the disappointing form of Alfredo Morelos.

In other Rangers news, this Ibrox outcast has been tipped to shine under Beale after footage emerged from Auchenhowie.
