Michael Beale lines up Rangers loan deal for Fulham midfielder Josh Onomah in January
Michael Beale has lined up a loan move for Fulham midfielder Josh Onomah as he looks to kickstart his January business at Rangers, according to Birmingham Live.
It’s understood the 25-year-old is “destined” to leave Craven Cottage in January after struggling for gametime under Marco Silva in the 2022/23 season.
Birmingham Live suggest (7 December) Beale was keen to sign Onomah when he was in charge at QPR and that he has already lined up a loan move to bring him to Ibrox when the window opens.

Good start
This is a good start from the Rangers boss, who will be looking to be active in the January window. This squad is set for a major refresh over the next two transfer windows, with a number of players out of contract and entering the latter stages of their careers.
Onomah would be a quality addition for Beale, with the midfielder having been involved in a Premier League squad this season. Furthermore, he’s previously been on Tottenham’s books, and would certainly be a youthful upgrade to the central midfield area.

It promises to be an intriguing month for the new boss, with the level of backing he is set to receive remaining unclear. This season looks hard to rescue at the moment, with a title challenge looking very unlikely, as Celtic remain clear at the top of the table.
For Beale, he will have an eye on the 2023/24 season, when he will want his squad in the best possible condition to challenge The Hoops on the domestic front once again.
In other Rangers news, a first new arrival has already been lined up with confidence that a deal can be struck to bring him to Scotland.
