Ross Wilson promise awfully familiar to new Rangers boss Michael Beale

Ross Wilson sounded awfully familiar with new Rangers boss Michael Beale as the new head coach was unveiled on 1 December, according to Daily Record journalist Keith Jackson.

Fans have urged the Rangers board to back Beale in the upcoming transfer window and it seems Wilson has taken a similar stance on the matter.

Journalist Jackson admitted that Wilson’s rhetoric sounded “awfully familiar” in response to his comments about backing Beale in transfer dealings.

“But director of football Ross Wilson sounded awfully familiar last week at Beale’s official unveiling when he insisted money will be made available to the new man,” wrote Jackson for the Daily Record.

“Michael first and foremost wants to assess what’s here. There is certainly an assurance that, if he wants to do something in the market, then we will try to back that as much as we possibly can, was how he put it.”

Essential.

Backing Beale in the upcoming transfer windows is essential and it shouldn’t even be a question to the Rangers hierarchy.

With numerous talents contracts coming to an end this summer, now is the perfect opportunity to start rebuilding the Gers outfit under Beale.

Nevertheless, Jackson is right on the tone set by Wilson, we have heard it all before and it would be hardly surprising if Beale received little backing.

Failing to do so leaves the Gers in a precarious position and one that would lead to more misery in upcoming Scottish Premiership and European campaigns.

Until the transfer window opens, fans will have to keep their fingers and toes crossed that some money will be splashed, on the right kind of players, of course.

Making meaningless signings also needs to be avoided, with luck, Beale will have some top names already on his mind who through his connections will be ready and waiting to join Rangers.

In other Rangers news, this prolific goalscorer is “excited” by speculation linking him with a move to Ibrox in January.
