Keith Jackson asks strong question on Daily Record ahead of Rangers AGM

Keith Jackson has only one question for the Rangers board ahead of the AGM on Tuesday 6 December and it is regarding the January transfer window.

The Gers board is expected to be grilled in the AGM tomorrow, and strong questions are set to be asked regarding the club’s vision, the appointment of Micheal Beale, off-the-pitch blunders, and transfer policy.

Jackson, writing for The Daily Record [5 December, page 41], wrote that he wants to know whether Beale will be properly backed in the transfer market.

Rangers are nine points behind Celtic in the Scottish Premiership table, and Jackson makes a brutal assessment that Beale doesn’t stand a chance if he is not properly backed in January window (and beyond).

“Will Michael Beale be backed in the January transfer window?”, wrote Jackson.

“If the new boss isn’t properly funded then he doesn’t stand a chance.”

Bang on

This is the one question that every fan will be asking the Bears board – what’s the plan in the January window? In the previous two transfer windows, the Gers failed to sign players who can make significant contributions to the team.

In the summer, Rangers sold two important players, Joe Aribo and Calvin Bassey, and the new signings who were brought in as replacements have failed to step up.

Apart from Antonio Colak, none of the summer signings have made an impact so far.

Rangers

Beale will want to stamp his own authority and for that, he needs players of his own choice who can execute his plans. The Board must back him with serious funds in the market.

At the same time, the club will have to come to a decision shortly over the futures of Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos.

The two players have contracts at the club until the end of the season, and Beale may need to replace them if they are sold in the January window.

In other Rangers news, this prolific goalscorer is “excited” by speculation linking him with a move to Ibrox in January.
