Nicolas Raskin must be signed by Rangers in January as Glen Kamara asks to leave Ibrox

Michael Beale already faces a transfer headache in Glen Kamara, but the new Rangers boss already has an exciting replacement lined up.

According to Tutto Salernitana, Kamara has requested to leave Ibrox despite Beale replacing Giovanni van Bronckhorst as manager.

Kamara has made just seven league appearances this season during a campaign plagued with injury and inconsistency.

On top of that, there were rumours that Kamara fell out with Van Bronckhorst during his final few weeks in Glasgow [Daily Record], but it seems that even Beale’s arrival isn’t enough to convince the 27-year-old to stay.

With Gers now needing to replace the midfielder, Beale will be scratching his head with just a few weeks to go until the January transfer window opens. But thankfully for the 42-year-old, the club already have an ideal replacement already lined up.

According to the Daily Record, Rangers are keen on signing Standard Liege midfielder Nicolas Raskin in January, with the 21-year-old handed a contract deadline by the Belgian club back in November.

With a deal still yet to be agreed and Raskin’s contract set to expire in the summer, Standard Liege may have resigned to losing him for a cut price in January which will be music to Beale’s and Ross Wilson’s ears as they look to move quickly to replace Kamara.

At just 21, Raskin has plenty of time to grow and develop at Ibrox, and the Gers midfield is in desperate need of an overhaul.

Van Bronckhorst was forced to rely on the ageing duo of Steven Davis and Scott Arfield far too much this season and Raskin will add some much-needed energy and youth to the squad.
