Antonio Colak could become first Rangers victim under Michael Beale – Kris Boyd

Antonio Colak could become the first victim in the Rangers squad under Michael Beale and his changes coming in, according to Kris Boyd.

The Croat has hit the back of the net 14 times so far this season and has undoubtedly had a terrific start to life at Ibrox since joining this summer.

Nevertheless, Boyd confessed that he “fears for him” with new manager Beale already knowing and working with Kemar Roofe and Alfredo Morelos.

“For me, he is the best finisher at the club, but I do fear for him going forward under the new manager,” said Boyd as quoted by the Scottish Sun.

“Colak could be a victim of the way Michael Beale’s Rangers will play.

“He is already behind the eight ball as the new manager has worked with Kemar Roofe and Alfredo Morelos previously.

“Beale knows both strikers inside out, and talked the pair up when he was unveiled.”

Hopefully not.

Hopefully, Boyd’s doomsday theory for Colak isn’t correct, he’s been class this campaign and deserves the chance to impress new boss Beale.

There is nothing to suggest that Beale will look past the Croatian in his plans but he may look to tried and tested talents first.

The Englishman may even know how to get the best out of Morelos who is looking ever closer to leaving Ibrox by the day at the moment.

Roofe was fantastic during Beale’s time at the club and should be fully fit and firing by the time Scottish Premiership action returns on 15 December 2022.

It would be nice to see him and Colak get a start together, whether this is possible through Beale’s preferred formation though remains to be seen.

It’s still unclear how Beale is going to line up his Light Blues outfit, the Gers current injury list may even stop him from fielding the starting XI he wants.
