BBC pundit makes Rangers and Celtic admission after major news emerging from Ibrox
Martin O’Neill admits he will not give any advice to Michael Beale as he joined Rangers on Monday.
However, he did warn him that he’s got a big job on his hands in the title race given the fact that Celtic are appearing to run away with it.
The cross-town rivals are nine points apart in the league and Beale knows he’s facing a tough fight to overcome the deficit and win the 56th title for the club.

Speaking on BBC podcast ‘Sacked in the morning’, O’Neill said, via Football Scotland, “Well I won’t be giving him advice anyway.
“He’s been at the club before under Gerrard and knows the players and the club. Rangers is – and I’m not just saying this because I want to leave here alive – it’s a fantastic football club. It really is. But it’s been trailing Celtic now and they broke the 10 In A Row but Celtic have got really strong and Rangers are trailing again.
“Having said that, they were a penalty kick away from winning the Europa League. I was thinking ‘God Almighty, if you’d have won that in Seville, we’d have died’.”
Signings needed
The board got their man in Beale and now it’s time for them to back him in the January window if they want anything from this season.
Nine points may seem like a lot but if they are as strong as Celtic and have the bounce of a new manager, they can narrow the lead a great deal.
We back Beale to thrive but he needs a few more players because this current crop is not good enough to win the league.
Celtic did improve well over the summer while Giovanni van Bronckhorst was hardly given the funds despite guiding the side to the Champions League.
Beale also needs to improve some of the current players and deal with the ones that clearly see their futures away from Ibrox.
Tricky times for the former assistant coach but if anyone can turn things around, it’s him, and fans are going to fully be behind him.
In other Rangers news, Ross Wilson is put on high alert as a “Magnificent” midfielder is now prepared to leave his club in the January transfer window amid Ibrox links.
