Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara could revive his Ibrox future under Michael Beale

Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara has been given fresh hope over his Ibrox future, after he fell out of favour with his previous manager, Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

Michael Beale has vowed to get the best out of Kamara, 27, who has been criminally undervalued by the Dutchman.

Kamara was one of the key players under Steven Gerrard, and Beale, who was assistant manager at that time, knows him very well.

“Glen is a boy who has got 100 percent of my trust. He was a player who was hugely important in my previous time here and while he’s still young he’s coming into the prime of his career,” said Beale, as quoted by Daily Record.

“He will be a big player for Rangers moving forward. Glen was previously recruited for a style that suited Glen.”

As a player, when your manager says such nice things about you, your confidence level automatically goes high.

At one point, Kamara was linked with a move to Premier League clubs, but he lost his influence under the Dutchman and was not even the club’s first-choice midfielder.

He has made only three starts in the Scottish Premiership this season and looked like a player who is severely short of confidence.

TuttoSalernitana reported on 22 November that Italian club Salernitana have reignited their interest in signing Kamara, after missing out on him in the summer window.

This is where man management comes into play. After what Beale has said, it looks unlikely that the Gers would entertain any offer for Kamara, who has a contract at the club until 2025.

It could be a new beginning for a player who looked completely lost a few months ago.

Kamara needs to show his quality on the pitch and prove that his manager’s faith is not misplaced; but boy, he badly needed that dose of confidence.
