Michael Beale to surely address Robbie Ure contract silence as Rangers starlet still waits for verdict
Michael Beale’s appointment as Rangers boss has certainly lifted the mood surrounding Ibrox after a dire couple of months under Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
Time will tell whether the 42-year-old can make an impact on the Gers’ fortunes this season, but for now, he has certainly brought some optimism back into Ibrox. He knows the club inside out and has a genuine concern as to where Rangers’ future prospects lie.
With the January window fast approaching, it’s unclear how much backing Beale will receive in the winter window, but there’s no doubt the club need to rejuvenate the squad. There are a number of senior players out of contract in the summer who look almost certain to move on.

The board will obviously look to add some quality to the squad over the next two windows, but it’s important they don’t forget about some of the glaring contract issues which need to be resolved. Leon King is a player who has been attracting attention and will need to be tied down to a new deal in the coming months.
However, a more pressing concern for Beale to address is the future of young striker Robbie Ure, with the 18-year-old’s deal up in the summer of 2023. It was reported (Football Insider, 6 September) that the Gers were in “advanced” talks with the youngster.

It’s time for the club to end Ure’s contract limbo and get his long-term future committed to Rangers. Beale’s appointment could well see talks escalate over the next few weeks and months.
During his time at QPR, Beale was eager to give younger players an opportunity and he has already included 16-year-old Zak Lovelace in his first team training sessions. With much of the attention focused on potential incomings, it wouldn’t be a surprise for the Rangers boss to give some of his younger players a chance.
With Lovelace, Adam Devine and Alex Lowry all involved in Beale’s initial plans, the board would be wise to address some of the contract situations which have been left untouched.
In other Rangers news, Ross Wilson is put on high alert as a “Magnificent” midfielder is now prepared to leave his club in the January transfer window amid Ibrox links.
