Spotted: Michael Beale wowed by Rabbi Matondo in behind-the-scenes Rangers training clip
Michael Beale has been left impressed with Rangers attacking midfielder Rabbi Matondo in training at Auchenhowie on Thursday (1 December).
Rangers Review journalist Joshua Barrie has shared a training ground clip where Beale was seen praising Matondo for his fantastic control of the ball.
Matondo, 22, who joined in the summer transfer window from Schalke on a four-year deal, was heavily underused by former Bears manager, Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
“Yes Rabbi, he doesn’t know the rules but you can play football,” said Beale during training, as shared by Barrie on Twitter.
Fresh start
Matondo managed only six starts in the Scottish Premiership this season under the Dutchman, with a further four appearances have come from the bench.
He is yet to score for the Gers but has provided three assists thus far.
The Wales international will be hoping that he will get more chances under the new boss, and it seems like Beale is already impressed by his technical abilities.
Beale has got little experience in management, but he has proved himself as a fantastic coach. He can work on players’ strengths and weaknesses in training and make them even better.

He advocates an attacking brand of football and wants his team to play an open free-flowing style. Matondo and Kent would hugely benefit under him.
Rangers played an attractive brand of football under Steven Gerrard, and there are suggestions that Beale will bring back a similar style at Ibrox.
The club is in desperate need of a playing identity after a lackluster spell under the Dutchman, and the early impressions (training ground drills) should excite the fan base.
In other Rangers news, Michael Stewart slammed Beale for an “unsavoury” incident at Ibrox.
