Rangers move to hire Sean Dyche or Ralph Hasenhuttl not financially viable as Michael Beale arrives – pundit
We’re delighted to welcome Tam McManus as our exclusive Rangers columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Ibrox…
It wasn’t “financially viable” for Rangers to make a move to hire a manager like Ralph Hasehuttl or Sean Dyche to replace Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
Michael Beale was brought in on Monday to replace Giovanni van Bronckhorst in the Ibrox hot seat but there were names linked to the job with more experience than the 18th permanent Rangers manager.
Former Southampton boss Hasenhuttl [Scottish Sun] and ex-Burnley manager Dyche [West London Sport] were two who were loosely linked with replacing van Bronckhorst, however moves failed to materialise for either.

McManus believes it was more than likely financial constraints that stopped Rangers hiring either of the two former Premier League managers before they moved in to re-hire their ex-coach Beale from QPR.
“I think Beale was the man they wanted straight away,” McManus told Ibrox News.
“There were bigger names out there but I don’t think that was financially viable for the club.
“Ralph Hasenhuttle, Sean Dyche… these guys are never going to come to Rangers at this moment in time, they’ll want Premier League jobs.
“Michael Beale knows the club, he knows Ross Wilson, he knows the board, he ticks a lot of boxes. But he doesn’t have a lot of experience as he’s only been a manager for six months.

“It’s a big gamble for Rangers but they’ll be hoping it pays off because they’re miles behind in the league.
“I don’t think any Rangers or Celtic supporter would expect Rangers to win the league this season so it’s a bit of a free hit.
“There are still two cups to play for as well.
“They’ll expect to win something this season.”
In other Rangers news, a former Ibrox chief has slammed the current board for their decision to hire Beale.
