Barry Ferguson ‘excited’ with Rangers training video clips under Michael Beale
Barry Ferguson is “excited” after watching some video clips as Rangers players resumed training under new manager Michael Beale.
The 42-year-old, who became the 18th manager at Ibrox, is expected to bring an “aggressive, high-intensity approach” to the game, and early signs indicate that the football being played will be a lot different from what it was under Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
Beale was the assistant manager at the club under Steven Gerrard, and he believes in free-flowing attacking-minded football where full-backs were given more freedom to influence the game.

“Michael Beale has spent the last couple of days saying all the right things,” wrote Ferguson for The Daily Record.
“And I have to admit, it’s making me excited to see what his plans for Rangers look like in the flesh.
“I’ve seen clips from the first few days of training and it certainly all seems geared towards an aggressive, high intensity approach.
“The full backs are going to be bombing forward, there’s going to be loads of interchanging in midfield and bodies in the box. And that’s what Rangers fans want to see. I expect it to be similar to the style of play under Steven Gerrard which was so enjoyable to watch.”
