Zak Lovelace closing in on Rangers SPFL debut after major news this week

Rangers held a training session under Michael Beale this week and photos emerged from it which showed Zak Lovelace with the seniors.

The new Ibrox boss has a penchant of working with youngsters and promoting them to the senior side and he could be doing the same with the 16-year-old.

Lovelace already made his debut in the cup earlier this season, but it’s the SPFL debut that he will be waiting for and it seems like he could be nearing it.

Football Scotland reported on 30 November that Beale was keeping a close eye on the young attacker which is a sign that he’s impressed by what he’s seen thus far.

Lovelace became the second youngest player in Rangers history to make his debut and he’s one of the few youngsters not at the club when Beale left little over a year ago.

He is highly rated in and around Ibrox and there is real excitement to see how far the teenager can go in his career after showing such promise at the tender age of 16.

He’s already doing wonders for the B team in the Lowland League and it’s pretty clear that he’s definitely playing at a level above most players in that division.

Despite playing in just 64 per cent of the minutes in games he’s featured in (16), he’s managed to score eight goals and provide four assists.

In the UEFA Youth League too, Lovelace has bagged a couple of goals and set up four assists in six games – suggesting that he can do it against youngsters of top European clubs as well.
