Ridvan Yilmaz can reignite Rangers career under Michael Beale
Ridvan Yilmaz can reignite his frailing Rangers career under the guidance of Michael Beale after the defender announced on 24 November 2022 that he wouldn’t be returning to Turkey.
This leaves the door wide open for Yilmaz to start pushing for a starting place under Beale after failing to impress doomed former boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
Journalist Jonny McFarlane did make a solid point on the youngster however, claiming the Turkey international is susceptible to being bullied by “savvy” Scottish Premiership coaches.

“I remember when I first saw Amad Diallo, I thought… slight concerns and I’ve got to be honest, I’ve got the same concerns about Yilmaz and how he’s going to be consistently targeted by savvy Scottish coaches,” McFarlane said Speaking on the Rangers Review YouTube channel on August 8 2022.
“They’re going to look to bully him, so he’s going to have to stand up to that.”

Coming of age.
Beale’s arrival at Ibrox could prove to be the coming-of-age moment for Yilmaz to shine in the Light Blue shirt and he may be given the opportunity to do just that.
Yilmaz was completely restricted under van Bronckhorst, even on the odd occasion he got the chance to play, but Beale offers the Turk a completely different system to play in.
A system that Yilmaz can thrive in, one that promotes attacking play from the back, the Englishman has already stated he wants to take the “handbrake off”.
Standing in Yilmaz’s way is Croatia international Borna Barisic, who has been less than impressive this campaign, surely he can get the nod over him.
There were massive hopes and dreams for Yilmaz when he arrived in Glasgow and it would be a shame to see an evidently talented player leave the club with zero memories.
McFarlane’s comments about the youngster getting bullied could ring true and the defender must try to avoid being roped into physical battles in Premiership fixtures.
With luck, the Turkey international will have used his time on the bench as an opportunity to get settled in Scotland, leaving him the chance to hit the ground running with Beale.
In other Rangers news, Michael Stewart slammed Beale for an “unsavoury” incident at Ibrox.
