Michael Beale calls off Rangers friendly v Swansea with key reason revealed
Michael Beale has reportedly decided to call off his first game in charge of Rangers against Swansea as he wants more time to train the players.
According to the Scottish Sun [30 November], the game that was due to take place on Saturday, 3 December, will not go ahead.
With no fans in attendance anyway, Beale has decided to work with his side for another week to take on Bayer Leverkusen on 10 December.

Right call?
We can understand Beale’s decision to call off a game this early into his tenure as he’ll barely have had time to work on his players.
They will still be used to Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s style of play and he clearly does not want that even though it’s a friendly.
This will give him an extra week to work on his players before he can start to properly analyse them and then make judgements on who’s good enough and who isn’t.
Currently, most players are underperforming and Beale knows that they can do much better than they currently are as it’s a talented bunch.
Hopefully, most of the players show up and prove why they deserve to wear the Rangers jersey as that confidence seems to be lacking in them currently.
Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent perhaps have the most to prove as they are linked with an exit and they could be on their way out in January.
In other Rangers news, Ross Wilson is put on high alert as a “Magnificent” midfielder is now prepared to leave his club in the January transfer window amid Ibrox links.
