Rangers may attempt to sign Sunderland striker Ross Stewart on two conditions in January

Rangers are reportedly unlikely to renew their interest in Sunderland striker Ross Stewart but that could change on two conditions.

According to the Daily Record [28 November], they could make attempts to sign him in case Alfredo Morelos leaves or they make money from a big sale over the January transfer window.

Stewart was linked with a move to Ibrox over the summer but Rangers failed to agree a deal and they signed Antonio Colak instead.

Much needed

The 26-year-old Scotland international is a terrific force of nature who only seems to be getting better with time.

Last season, he scored 24 league goals and provided five assists as he played a key role in getting Sunderland promoted to the Championship.

England’s second tier would certainly be tougher to score in but he’s making a mockery of the defences there.

Thus far, in seven league games, he’s already scored five times and assisted thrice – averaging over a goal/assist per game.

Last season, he was hailed for his “Excellent” form and he’s continued that sensational form this time around as well.

Morelos is someone disgruntled with life at Rangers and it’s best for all parties if he parts ways over the summer.

Stewart would be an upgrade on the Colombian and if Michael Beale can find a way to play him and Colak in the same eleven it’s going to be good times for Rangers supporters.

In other Rangers news, Ross Wilson is put on high alert as a “Magnificent” midfielder is now prepared to leave his club in the January transfer window amid Ibrox links.
