Sir Kenny Dalglish shares Rangers AGM prediction amid latest next Ibrox manager developments
Sir Kenny Dalglish expects to see a lot of changes in the Rangers squad in the next two transfer window and predicts the AGM (annual general meeting) next month won’t be a quiet one.
While writing his column for the Sunday Post (27 November, page 16 of Sports section), the legendary Scottish striker says that supporters will demand answers from the shareholders and the Rangers board about their plans for player recruitment.
The Bears are likely to appoint Queens Park Rangers manager Michael Beale as their next manager following the sacking of Giovanni van Bronckhorst in the next few days.

“There has been plenty of discussion about who will replace Giovanni, and I’m sure there will be someone in place before the AGM next month,” wrote Daglish for The Sunday Post.
“I don’t think that the meeting between the shareholders and the Ibrox board on December 6 will be a quiet one.
“Supporters will want to know about the plans for player recruitment – as will any new manager.”
Spot on
Dalglish is absolutely spot on here. No matter how many top managers you sign, unless the club backs them in the transfer market, it’s impossible to maintain a continued level of success.
Van Bronckhorst deserves to be sacked. After taking the club to the final of the Europa League, the Bears have regressed under him this season.
The tactics were poor, the team selections were horrible and the football being played was unimaginative. The league table doesn’t lie as the Bears are now nine points behind Celtic.

But there are a lot of questions that need answering in the AGM. The club sold Calvin Bassey, Joe Aribo, and Nathan Patterson on big-money deals in the last two transfer windows, but the recruitment has been very poor. The board needs to clarify the plans in the transfer market.
Beale is an inexperienced manager but the club is putting a lot of faith in him. He needs to be backed in the market, and the fans have every right to know what the club is planning about player recruitment.
On top of that, there are a few players who are in the final few months of their deals, and there’s hardly any progress on that front. No one has got a clue what the club plans to do with them in January. These are some of the issues that need to be solved.
In other Rangers news, a Serie A club is keen to sign this first-team player in the January window.
