Michael Beale spotted at Auchenhowie as Rangers get ready for announcement

Michael Beale has been spotted arriving at Auchenhowie as Rangers prepare to officially announce him as their new manager, according to The Sun.

The 42-year-old arrived in Glasgow on Sunday night (27 November) and has agreed personal terms on a 3.5 year deal at Ibrox to take over from Giovanni van Bronckhorst as manager.

With players returning to training today following a short break during the World Cup, photographers spotted the current QPR manager arriving at the training ground in a BMW ahead of an official announcement.

Rangers

Beale knows Auchenhowi well having left Rangers just over a year ago as pat of Steven Gerrard’s backroom staff when they went to Aston Villa.

He has since moved to west London as a manager of QPR and with the team in 7th in the Championship is now on his way to Ibrox as the main man once more.

Done deal?

If you weren’t a believer before now that a deal was close or even done, then it surely can’t be denied now.

Beale is going to be seen as a massive villain in the media after his comments when he turned down the Wolves job last month, but Rangers are a totally different kettle of fish in terms of club size.

He knows that first-hand too, and will have been given certain assurances about transfer budget, his squad and the expectations around his appointment before committing.

QPR would have been expecting this for a while, with the first reports of their interest coming almost a month ago, and now he will have a few weeks to work with his squad and get his ideas across before the first game back.

He has to hit the ground running to have any sort of chance of catching Celtic in the title race and to win over the fans who aren’t convinced by his appointment, but everyone is behind him and hopes he can bring this club back to where it belongs.
