Michael Beale demands Rangers transfer guarantee as appointment close

Michael Beale is set to be appointed as the new manager of Rangers and he is due in Glasgow on Monday (28 November) to seal the deal.

According to The Daily Record (28 November, page 50), Beale will demand a “transfer guarantee” from the Gers board ahead of the move.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst wrote an emotional post on Instagram on Sunday (27 November) and the Daily Record took that as the Dutchman taking a swipe at the board at Ibrox.

In one of their headlines, the newspaper said: “Axed Gio drops bomb on board and hints at issues over transfer spending.”

Needed

Van Bronckhorst was never going to wash dirty linen in public, and he was very respectful of the club in his long post.

However, he did hint that he faced unique challenges from the top under very difficult circumstances to operate at Ibrox this season.

This is a clear indication that he wasn’t supported enough by the club hierarchy in the transfer market, and was forced to work against his plans.

This is true for everyone. Unless you back your manager, there won’t be any improvement. Even Pep Guardiola or Jurgen Klopp would struggle to improve this team unless they are given the tools to operate with.

Rangers

Beale will become the 18th manager at Ibrox, and it seems like the club is likely to make the announcement in the next 24 hours.

He has agreed personal terms with the club, as per TalkSport, and the official announcement is just a formality now. Beale wouldn’t have taken the job if he wasn’t assured of transfer funds in January.

Beale is an inexperienced manager and his appointment is a big gamble, but fans will love to see some activities in the January market.

In other Rangers news, Beale could be facing a mass exodus of players at Ibrox once he arrives.
