Michael Beale at Rangers training ground ahead of official announcement as new manager
Michael Beale could be appointed as the new manager of Rangers as early as today (Monday, 28 November), according to Dharmesh Sheth.
The Sky Sports journalist shared on Twitter that the 42-year-old is currently at Rangers training ground. He has already agreed personal terms ahead of the move [Sam Wallace, via Twitter].
The 42-year-old manager is likely to bring Neil Banfield & Harry Watling as part of the coaching staff with him to Ibrox.
Via Twitter, Sheth wrote: “Mick Beale announcement as Rangers boss could be as soon as today. Beale at Rangers training ground. Expected to take coaches Neil Banfield & Harry Watling with him to Ibrox. Less than 6 weeks ago, he turned down Wolves – citing “loyalty& integrity” to QPR.”
The integrity debate
Beale turned down a move to Wolves citing “integrity and loyalty” as the main reason, and yet he didn’t hesitate to take up the job at Rangers at the first opportunity.
The Queens Park Rangers boss has come under strong criticism as a result, but this is a futile argument.
Beale enjoys a special bond with Rangers fans and the player, and he feels he has unfinished business here.
Had Beale been offered by clubs like Manchester United or say Arsenal, he would not have faced this amount of criticism for making a career choice.

Having said that, his appointment is a big gamble. Rangers have made a poor start, and are already nine points behind Celtic at the top of the league.
Beale can reunite the fractious dressing room, and get the best out of old guards like Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos.
It will be also interesting to see if he is given sufficient transfer funds in January to bring in players of his choice as the Bears are badly in need of reinforcements.
In other Rangers news, a Serie A club is keen to sign this first-team player in the January window.
