English and Scottish mainstream media get it wrong as Rangers edge closer to hiring Michael Beale
The 4th Official maintains that mainstream media in England and Scotland have kept getting it wrong over Rangers’ move to hire Michael Beale.
In a new post on their Patreon page on Monday (28 November), The 4th Official reports that Beale, 42, is set to be announced as the new manager at Ibrox in the coming hours, adding that the “English media (and the SMSM) has been off the ball from the very start on this”.
It is understood that The Athletic journalist David Ornstein is correct in saying that Beale is in Glasgow ahead of being appointed as the Gers’ 18th permanent manager.

However, The 4th Official claims that British media has been continuously getting it wrong about Beale with talkSPORT’S Jim White reporting in the early hours of Sunday morning (27 November) that QPR were yet to grant permission to the Light Blues for talks.
The 4th Official reported on Saturday (26 November) that a deal had already been completely agreed to hire the Englishman with £1.5million in compensation being paid to QPR.
Weird turn of events
It’s odd that other journalists and media outlets were reporting differently to others.
We saw a variety of conflicting claims over the weekend.
Ultimately, however, it looks as though Rangers are now just hours away from announcing Beale as Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s successor in the dug-out at Ibrox.
It’s a bit of a controversial hire.
Beale walked out on Rangers with Steven Gerrard just over a year ago.

He then walked out on Aston Villa to manage QPR.
The Bromley-born coach then rejected the job at Wolves, said how important loyalty was, lost a bunch of games and now he’s agreeing to quit Loftus Road to come back to Ibrox.
And in all of this, he’s an inexperienced coach who’s probably only being hired because Ross Wilson doesn’t have the recruitment nous to go out there and find someone.
He did it with player recruitment in the summer, handing new contracts to past-it players instead of bothering to sign replacements.
We’ll see how this goes but we’re not completely impressed.
In other Rangers news, angry QPR fans edited Beale’s Wikipedia page on Saturday.
