Michael Beale set for zoom conference as he closes in on Rangers return

Rangers are in “advanced talks” to appoint Michael Beale as their next manager, as reported by Sunday Post.

The 42-year-old Queens Park Rangers boss has emerged as the preferred candidate for the vacant managerial post at Ibrox, after a series of interviews being held by Ross Wilson in the last few days.

The newspaper (27 November, page 72) reports that his appointment is likely to come early this week, but there are some formalities left including a Zoom call conference with the club’s stakeholders.

Almost complete

Unless there’s any last-minute drama, Beale will return to Ibrox to become the club’s next manager.

Beale, who was assistant to Steven Gerrard at Ibrox, was given permission to speak to Rangers by QPR, but his potential departure hasn’t gone down well with the London club and the fan base.

The majority of the Gers squad will return within the next week, and the chances are high that Beale will be appointed around that time.

Beale is a popular figure at the club, and he was the brain behind Rangers’ title-winning campaign.

Rangers

He is a progressive, forward-thinking manager who advocates an attacking brand of football. He has done well at QPR despite the recent slump in form.

There was a chance for him to manage Wolves but he rejected that opportunity. However, a return to Ibrox is too good an opportunity for him to pass down.

His appointment will remain a big gamble, as he has got very little experience in management, but it seems the Gers board is ready to give him an opportunity.

In other Rangers news, a Serie A club is keen to sign this first-team player in the January window.
