Jim White shares major Michael Beale update in middle of the night, Rangers chase at ‘Standstill’

Rangers have not been granted permission to speak to Michael Beale and the situation is at a “standstill”, according to the reliable Jim White.

The Gers finally made their move to speak to the QPR boss on Saturday (26 November) and are hoping to have him in place before Monday (28 November), with The Athletic’s David Ornstein reporting that permission had been granted for the two parties to discuss personal terms.

However talkSPORT host and former Sky Sports News reporter Jim White took to his personal Twitter account (27 November) to dispute that claim, although he still expects the deal to be done eventually.

“My understanding is that no permission given as yet by QPR to allow Michael Beale to speak to Rangers about vacant manager position – situation at standstill for now,” he wrote.

Delays?

Everyone seems convinced that Beale is going to become the next Rangers manager, and while fans are seemingly split on the decision, it’s clearly not done yet.

Plenty of people have been jumping the gun but until Beale has put pen to paper there is every chance he could change his mind or the club could change theirs, just ask Wolves a few months ago.

Rangers

Beale is clearly a wanted man but whether he is the right man is a different question entirely. He’s very limited when it comes to experience as a number one and quite simply we need someone who can make an instant impact.

He knows a lot of the squad from his time at the club with Steven Gerrard so hopefully he won’t need too much time to evaluate everyone and make big decisions, but it’s a huge job for him to take on so early into his career.

It’s a gamble from the club without a doubt, but it seems as though everyone needs to hold their horses as it may not be a done deal just yet.
