Rangers officials formally state intent amid fresh development in quest to appoint Michael Beale

The Rangers officials have reportedly formally stated their intention to Queens Park Rangers that they want Michael Beale to be their next manager.

According to the Glasgow Times on 26 November, Beale is now edging closer to a return to Ibrox after leaving the club last season to join Aston Villa with Steven Gerrard.

Since then, he left the former Liverpool captain to start his own managerial career at QPR and halfway through the season, he looks set to leave them.

Get it sorted

A formal approach has been made by the Ibrox outfit and it now seems to be only a matter of time before he signs the dotted line.

He turned down joining Wolves last month and that led to many eyebrows raised as they were certainly a better prospect than QPR.

It looked like he wanted to build something in London and perhaps felt it was too early for him to take up a top-flight job anywhere.

However, when Rangers came knocking on his door, there did not seem to be the same sort of hesitation, which was equally surprising.

Perhaps, the love for the club is what’s seeing him return or the fact that he’s given certain assurances here that he wasn’t at the Molineux.

Regardless, no Rangers fan would not wish to return to the Gerrard era that saw the club go unbeaten in the league and clinch their 55th title so they need to get Beale’s appointment over the line as soon as possible.

In other Rangers news, a four-time league winner is likely to want to replace Giovanni van Bronckhorst and may even throw his CV into the mix after a major recent development.
