Dharmesh Sheth shares fresh twist in Rangers bid to hire Michael Beale despite reports on Saturday
Dharmesh Sheth has shared on Twitter that Rangers have made an official move to bring Queens Park Rangers manager Michael Beale to Ibrox.
Goal Brazil reported on 26 November the Bears have joined Flamengo to land Luis Castro as their next manager. In a fresh twist, it appears that QPR will give permission to Beale to speak with Rangers over their vacant managerial role.
Beale, who previously turned down a move to Wolves, wants to return to Ibrox, and the move could take place very quickly.
“Official approach now in. QPR to give permission as Beale wants to speak to Rangers. Could move quickly now. Beale turned down Wolves citing “integrity and loyalty” as reason for not taking up the offer,” wrote Sheth.
Rangers have taken time to appoint their next manager following the sacking of Giovanni van Bronckhorst, and it seems they are close to getting their preferred choice.
His appointment is a big gamble though. The situation at Ibrox has changed completely from what it was a few months back in the summer.
The club trail Celtic by nine points, and they have been eliminated from the Champions League in an embarrassing manner. Three key players are in their final few months of the contract and apart from one, none of the summer singings have clicked.
This is what Beale will face when he will take the hot seat. Will he be able to handle the pressure? He has no pedigree as a manager and has got little experience in management.
Now the positives. In Beale, Rangers will have someone who knows the club very well. He can reunite the dressing room and get the best out of the core group of players.
It appears that Beale could be appointed within the next week. All the best.
In other Rangers news, a Serie A club is keen to sign this first-team player in the January window.
