BBC shares advanced talks update on Michael Beale as Rangers interviewed other managers

Rangers are reportedly progressing in their talks with QPR manager Michael Beale with conversations now believed to be at an advanced stage.

According to the BBC, the Ibrox hierarchy have interviewed a host of managers but appeared to have narrowed in on their former assistant coach.

They expect to finalise the appointment by next week and they will have him work with the players a few weeks before the season resumes.

All but done now

We have seen transfers fizzle out despite reaching such a late stage so we’re not counting our chickens yet but it does seem like a done deal.

From what we’ve heard, they will have no problems in paying the compensation to QPR and the Championship side are willing to let Beale leave.

They’ve even started their process of appointing a replacement so they’ve probably come to terms with the fact that he’ll be leaving.

Things were never this advanced when Wolves looked to hire him so it’s a good sign that everything appears to be going in the right direction.

We do have certain reservations about Beale and that’s mainly down to his lack of experience but even Steven Gerrard was inexperienced and he did an amazing job.

We’re hoping that Beale rolls back the clock and brings the good times back to Ibrox as things have been a bit dull in the blue half of Glasgow of late.

In other Rangers news, a four-time league winner is likely to want to replace Giovanni van Bronckhorst and may even throw his CV into the mix after a major recent development.
