Rangers could announce their new manager within the next 72 hours

Rangers could announce their next manager before the end of this week, that is within the next 72 hours, as reported by Glasgow Times.

A host of names were thrown at for the vacant managerial role after the Bears sacked Giovanni van Bronckhorst earlier this week.

However, it appears that Michael Beale, the present manager of Queens Park Rangers, is close to becoming the next manager at the Ibrox club.

Gamble

The appointment of Beale is a big gamble. It can definitely work, as Beale has the qualities to become a top manager, but it can turn out to be a massive blunder from Ross Wilson once again.

Beale knows the club inside out. He was the brain behind Steven Gerrard’s unit and commands strong respect from the players. Thus there is a feeling that he will get the best out players left by Steven Gerrard who are still around.

The likes of Ryan Kent, Ryan Jack, Alfredo Morelos, Scott Arfield, and others could get a massive lift in seeing Beale coming at Ibrox. He loves playing attacking football and has done relatively well at Queens Park Rangers.

But the pressure is huge at Rangers. The Gers are already trailing by nine points, and there is enormous pressure to make necessary additions in January.

Beale can reunite the squad that looks divided at the moment, but his lack of managerial experience is a cause for concern.

In other Rangers news, the Gers midfielder has suffered a major injury blow and could be out until March.
