Rangers 'will move on soon' if they don't get an answer from Michael Beale about manager's job

Rangers will walk away from a deal for Michael Beale soon if they don’t get an answer about their vacant manager role, says Alan Nixon.

The Gers sacked Giovanni van Bronckhorst on Monday (21 November) after a poor run of form and quickly identified Queens Park Rangers boss Beale as their preferred candidate to replace him.

Some reports suggested that Beale had already told the board he wants the job, but the deal is yet to progress any further and The Sun journalist Nixon shared a short update on his personal Twitter account (23 November, 11:11am).

When asked by a fan on Twitter if Rangers fans should expect an announcement soon, Nixon replied;

“Think Rangers want an answer or they will move on soon.”

Pressure

It’s pretty clear that Rangers want Beale to be their next manager, but after seeing what happened when he was linked to the Wolves job recently they’ll want it done as quickly as possible.

Beale looked all set to move to Molineux before having a last minute change of heart out of loyalty to QPR, and if that were to happen again here it would be a monumental waste of time for the Gers.

If he isn’t convinced of the move or not ready to commit to it yet then the club should move on, especially as there is no stand-out candidate for the role and even Beale has plenty of question marks around if he’s the right man.

He’s only been a number one for 21 games and while QPR have played well, they’ve hardly ripped up any trees and Rangers are in big need of a change of fortunes quickly.

Plenty of managers are in the running, so Beale is under pressure to decide quickly or lose his chance at getting the job he wants above all others.
